This activity will provide an update on the major problems and recent advances in health care in resource poor countries.Target Audience
This activity was planned to address the educational needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and public health professionals.Objectives
- Identify the major causes of childhood morbidity and mortality in low-resource settings.
- Identify the barriers to healthcare that exist in low-resource settings.
- Discuss recent diagnostic and therapeutic advances for the management of diseases common to low-resource settings.
- Describe the potential value of international medical work experiences in low-resource settings.
