ADvance: Research and Care Symposium

Overview

Alzheimer's Association Greater Dallas presents information and education on the neuroscience of early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia  – specifically with regard to breakthroughs in biomarkers, imaging, prevention, and the ethical considerations of all. The morning sessions and keynote luncheon are designed to meet the educational needs of neurologists, psychiatrists, internal medicine and family practitioners, and other health care professionals (MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, clinical nurse specialists, etc.) who are involved in the assessment and care of patients with cognitive impairment. The luncheon and afternoon session are open to non-professional caregivers and community members seeking education and support.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

This knowledge-based activity has been assigned UANs 0845-9999-18-001-L01-P, 0845-9999-18-002-L01-P, 0845-9999-18-003-L01-P, 0845-9999-18-004-L01-P, 0845-9999-18-005-L01-P, 0845-9999-18-007-L01-P, and 0845-9999-18-006-L01-P and will award 4.75 contact hours (0.475 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit in states that recognize ACPE providers.

Statements of participation will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes signing in at registration, attending the entire session for which credit is claimed, completing the activity evaluation and requesting credit online at conclusion of the activity. Credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor, and participants may print a statement of credit or transcript from their NABP e-profile. UNTHSC complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to award continuing medical education to physicians.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for 4.75 hour of AOA Category 2A CME credits. Approval is currently pending.
