Needs Statement

Numerous studies and reports document the urgent need to improve care for patients with chronic pain. The needs of all health care clinicians to better understand the assessment and management of chronic pain is also well documented.  This activity informs providers of key pieces of information to effectively monitor low back pain.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practioners and nurses that deliver care for patients that suffer from chronic pain.

Objectives

Discuss the pain system and its modes of operation; 

Identify predictors of lower back pain; and 

Review multidisciplinary treatment of lower back pain.
