North Texas has accepted an invitation to play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 16, at noon at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The opponent will be the 10-2 Troy Trojans, co-champions of the Sun Belt Conference and owners of a 24-21 win over No. 22 LSU of the Southeastern Conference.
This will be the Mean Green's 10th bowl game in program history, their second in as many years, and their fifth trip to the New Orleans Bowl but first since 2004. North Texas won four-straight Sun Belt Conference championships and played in the New Orleans Bowl from 2001 to 2004.
Tickets for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl are $60 for Midfield Premium Reserved and $40 for Sideline Reserved.
