Overview ad

Study Figure Drawing and Works On Paper in Florence, Italy! Live for one month in the heart of the city where the Italian Renaissance was born. Students will pass mornings sketching on location in Florence's numerous world class museums, elegant palaces, peaceful churches, vibrant piazzas, vast gardens, and engaging exhibitions of contemporary art. Afternoon sessions will include studio sessions drawing from the model and making works on paper in the studios at the Santa Reparata International School of Art. Our class will also make a day trip to the Medieval hill town of Siena and a multi-day visit to the picturesque city of Venice. Our month studying art in Florence will culminate in a student exhibition at SRISA, Florence.

Figure Drawing in Italy (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Graduate levels)
This course will focus on drawing the human figure. In addition to drawing from live studio models at the Santa Reparata studios, students will spend mornings sketching at Florentine museums and piazzas from many of the world's greatest treasures in figurative drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Works on Paper (BFA and MFA levels)
This course will focus on an interdisciplinary approach to artworks on/of paper. In addition to studio sessions at SRISA exploring monotype, drawing, collage, and sculptural paper forms, students will gain a personal perspective of life in Florence while sketching and collecting inspirations in public spaces such as museums, historical sites, piazzas, markets, and train stations.
