Services

The clinical providers within the Texas Center for Performing Arts Health are committed to being the premier performing arts providers in North Texas.  We follow an interdisciplinary approach to patient care with our team of physicians, audiologists, speech and language pathologists, physical therapists, and counselors.

For medical care, the Texas Center for Performing Arts Health has established the Performing Arts Medicine Clinic located on the Fort Worth campus of the University of North Texas Health Science Center. It is housed within the Patient Care Center and offers comprehensive care to performing artists of all types and skill levels across the DFW Metroplex and beyond.

Musicians who wish to be evaluated for voice or hearing problems can utilize the services offered at the UNT Speech and Hearing Center. Here, they will find highly trained audiologists and speech-language pathologists certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the State of Texas. These clinicians are able to provide professional diagnostic and therapy services for a wide range of speech-language and hearing problems.

Counseling & Testing Services at the University of North Texas offers a broad array of services to UNT music students. Counseling for various personal issues is offered. Music majors often experience generalized stress disorders, performance anxiety of various kinds, communication problems, difficulties in problem solving, and relationship issues. It is not unusual for students to have difficulties with time management, meeting their personal performance expectations, the demands of parents, and financial obligations. For students who are unsure about continuing as a music major, academic and career counseling is available.
