Yesterday was a day for people to look
up to the cosmos. The moon passed in
front of the sun for a complete solar
eclipse, viewable in many major cities
in the United States from Oregon to
South Carolina, and partially visible in
other countries in South America,
Africa, and Europe. Millions of people
donned eclipse glasses, or viewed
through homemade pinhole projectors.
Cameras were poised. The International
Space Station even photobombed the
highest resolution images.
To commemorate the eclipse we’ve put together a Gallery of some of our favorite images. Did you take photos yesterday? If so add your favorite in a comment below using the format [ FLICKR LINK ] and it will display with the rest of the eclipse images. You’re also welcome to add your eclipse images to the official Total Solar Eclipse 2017 Group run by NASA.

Our maple tree was its own pinhole camera. This was taken shortly after totality in Salem, Oregon.

From the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. Clouds arrived just at the peak but the brightness of the sun burned through at times. We had about 75% coverage of the sun.
