LUBBOCK, Texas -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) announced that he has added Mary Whistler to his U.S. Senate staff as West Texas deputy regional director based in Lubbock.

“I am delighted that Mary has agreed to join our team to focus on the interests and the needs of Texans from Amarillo to Lubbock to Abilene,” said Sen. Cruz. “West Texas farmers and ranchers play a crucial role in feeding our state and our nation, and they provide raw materials for thousands of industries across the country and around the world. I look forward to working with Mary to ensure we are doing everything we can to expand jobs and opportunity for the people of West Texas and ensuring that each of Texas’ distinct agriculture industries are able to expand and prosper.”

Whistler joins Shea Woodard-Hall, Sen. Cruz’s West Texas regional director based in Abilene, in helping to ensure the voices of the people of West Texas in over 70 counties including Amarillo and Lubbock are being heard in Washington, D.C. Whistler has worked for more than 30 years in the Lubbock district offices of Congressmen Jodey Arrington (R-Texas), Larry Combest (R-Texas), and Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas).
