Excessive Heat Continues in the West, Severe Thunderstorm Threat in the Northeast

Oppressive heat will continue across much of western Washington State, Oregon and northern California. High temperatures of 100 to 110 degrees are expected. Some relief is expected over the next few days as high pressure weakens. Severe thunderstorms will be possible from the Ohio Valley to the Northeast U.S. into Friday night.
