Studio Engineer Qualifications :

Engineer Applicants must have experience with multi-track digital audio recording on computers. Pro Tools Experience is preferred. Applicants must be comfortable in working with patrons on their own and be open to recording all styles of music. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate fluctuations in bookings.

Lab Monitor Qualifications

Applicant must have fluent skills on Mac systems and must be familiar with common software such as MS Office, web browsers, etc.  Excellent verbal and written communications are a must for answering the many questions posed by patrons and faculty.  A working knowledge of western music theory and a familiarity with MIDI, digital sound editing and notation software are also preferred.  Duties will include assisting students with software, maintaining workstations and printers and assisting classroom instructors in the lab.  

Monitors also check students in and out of the lab, answer phones and run errands.  Hours are usually flexible around monitors’ schedules, but potentially range from Monday through Sunday 7:30am to 12:00 am, averaging 15-20 hours per week.  Monthly staff meetings are required.

• All qualified applicants will be contacted to take an entrance exam which will evaluate knowledge of pertinent technology
• Following the exam, qualified applicants will then be contacted for an interview
