Biography
Binod Guragai is in his fourth year as a PhD student at University of North Texas. His primary areas of research interest include informativeness of financial statements, earnings quality including earnings management and financial statement restatements, and corporate governance. His primary teaching interest is financial accounting. While in the PhD program, Binod has taught Accounting Principles I, Accounting Principles II, and Intermediate Accounting I. Binod expects to complete his degree by May 2017. Binod has accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting at University of Nevada-Reno, to begin in the fall of 2017.
Prior to starting his doctorate studies, Binod worked as a Sales Tax Auditor at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in San Antonio Audit Office. Binod has earned his CPA license (Active) in the state of Texas. He earned his Master of Science in Accounting from University of Houston– Clear Lake and Bachelor in Business Studies from Nepal. Binod and his wife, Binu, enjoy walking, traveling, and spending time with their friends and family.
