GREAT GRADUATE: Lee Ann Harris is not only a great musician, she’s a great graduate. Lee Ann attended UNT in the 1980s and applied to graduate in May of 1988. That final semester, 1 week before school was out, she got “the call” to join the band at the world famous jazz club The Baked Potato in Hollywood. Lee Ann left Denton before finishing her final class. For 25 years, she worked full-time in LA as a jazz, session and tour musician. According to “Musician” magazine, Lee An...n was the first jazz percussionist to cover all styles and all genres of music. She has recorded and/or performed with a wide spectrum of artists including John Williams, Peter Gabriel, Vince Gill and even The Muppets. Lee Ann was the first female in The One O'Clock Lab Band’s rhythm section and spent many a night playing with Brave Combo. Recently, she moved back to Oklahoma and decided to finally get her degree. She’s taking a math class that will transfer to UNT so she can walk in May and get her diploma in August. Way to go, Lee Ann!
