The Introduction to Earned Value Management module introduces the basics of earned value management (EVM) as it relates to acquisition program management. You will learn the five independent earned value variables and the three most common EVM metrics. At the conclusion of this module, you should be familiar with EVM-related laws passed by Congress, the Office of Management and Budget’s implementation of these laws, and current Department of Defense policy guidance regarding EVM requirements. Additionally, you should recognize how work scope, schedule, and resources are combined to establish the EVM performance measurement baseline.
