Description
This module provides a comprehensive overview of parts management, including policy and contractual implementation requirements, costs and benefits, the parts management plan, participant responsibilities, and tools.
Objectives
Upon completion, you should be able to:
  • Define "part";
  • Define "parts management";
  • Identify factors to be considered when selecting parts;
  • Identify policies on parts management;
  • Identify when parts management requirements should be considered, addressed, and implemented;
  • Identify factors in developing a Statement of Work (SOW);
  • Distinguish who does parts management;
  • Identify the costs associated with parts management;
  • Identify the benefits of parts management;
  • Identify the six cost-related program areas in a cost-benefit analysis;
  • Define a parts management plan;
  • Identify the elements of a parts management plan;
  • Distinguish responsibilities for parts management requirements;
  • Determine the tools required to support parts management; and Determine who is responsible for the DoD Parts Management Program.
