STM 304 Leadership in Science and Technology Management
 Description
Designed for senior DoD science and technology managers, this course focuses on the application of leadership skills within DoD science and technology organizations. It emphasizes the principles of strategic planning, technology roadmap development and technology portfolio development prioritization and evaluation. The course challenges students to think critically in instructor facilitated exercise to make sound recommendations on which technologies to pursue consistent with organizational core functions, customer requirements and technology opportunities.

Target Attendees
Personnel who develop overall program goals for science and technology (S&T) funds and acquiring the services of scientists, engineers, and technical support personnel to perform S&T research for DoD should attend this course. Recommended for those who provide funds and oversight to the S&T performers, (including universities, industry, and federal organizations) and those who interface with the technology customers to expedite the transition of technology to the user.

  • STM 203, Intermediate S&T Management
  • CLM 014, IPT Management and Leadership
  • Level II certification in S&TM
