BCF 131 Applied Cost Analysis

Description
Expanding on the techniques they learned in the Fundamentals of Cost Analysis, this course works on developing cost estimates with an emphasis on life cycle cost estimates. Learning methodologies include interactive presentations, group discussion, cost analysis using MS Excel, and case study of an ongoing Major Defense Acquisition Program. The course will also expose students to current developments in data collection.

Level 1 Business Cost Estimators and individuals who use information from life cycle cost estimates, supervise cost estimators, prepare budgets based on life cycle cost estimates, manage acquisition programs, evaluate and negotiate contract proposals, or want to learn cost-estimating basics.
Prerequisite(s)
Required:
  • BCF 130, Fundamentals of Cost Analysis
  • Professionals need competence in algebra equal to a second-year high school algebra course.
  • Knowledge and how of a calculator that has natural logarithms, exponentiation, and an inverse key
