IND 105 Contract Property Fundamentals

Description
This resident course provides foundational knowledge, training and skill development on the placement and administration of contract property with special attention given to the administration of the Contractors Property Management System for contract property, the disposal of contract property, as well as the identification of risks inherent in such placement. Instruction will also include the life cycle of a Property Management System and the processes and outcomes to be evaluated in a Property Management System Audit. Students will explore pertinent Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), DFARS Procedures, Guidance and Information (PGI) and other relevant guidance. The course will take students through the contract formation process, identification of specific contract document content pertaining to contract property, administration requirements and disposal processes for contract property. Students are expected to complete self-paced, on-line tasks and study assignments prior to arrival to the classroom.

Target Attendees
This course is primarily targeted to all Level I industrial property management specialists and industrial plant clearance specialists or those individuals assigned duties relative to the administration of Government contract property such as Contracting Officer Representatives (COR). It is also beneficial as a refresher for journeyman level property administration personnel as well as designated Property Administrators (PA) and Plant Clearance Officers (PLCO) seeking refresher training. Other personnel in disciplines such as production, quality assurance or supply who may have support roles in either Property Management System Audit (PMSA) or disposal of contract Government property would also benefit and therefore find the course useful. Finally, it is both useful and suggested for all Contracting Officers and/or contracting personnel.
