Description

Provides an overview of the DoD Risk, Issue, & Opportunity Management Guide, and explores a step-by-step process to plan, identify, analyze, handle, and monitor risks, issues, and opportunities.
Objectives

  • Define program risk
  • Describe the characteristics of risk
  • Illustrate the risk management process
  • Use group techniques to identify project risks
  • Analyze/Classify/Prioritize risks
  • Develop risk handling strategies
  • Describe risk monitoring methods used to document and update risk and program plans.
  • Explore the relationship and integration of risk management and other program management and systems engineering tools
  • Describe the issue management process
  • Describe the opportunity management process
  • Discuss cross-program risks
  • Discuss risk management considerations during acquisition life cycle phases
