LOG 200 Product Support Strategy Development, Part A

Description
First part of a two-course series. It provides a dynamic, real-time learning environment oriented toward developing the managerial and technical product support responsibilities of the life cycle logistician in understanding and evaluating the Integrated Product Support Elements and their application in developing a Product Support Strategy. The course requires participants to review current policy and guidance, concepts of operations and system requirements to demonstrate an understanding of their effects on product support development. It also includes evaluation of early and continuing integration of operational supportability, using the Integrated Product Support Elements, into the system development process leading to achieving DoD’s strategic product support goals.

Target Attendees
Life Cycle Logisticians seeking Level II certification as well as members of other acquisition career fields looking to develop their understanding of acquisition planning considerations for the designing, manufacture, fielding, and supporting of DoD systems.
Prerequisite(s)
  • ACQ 203, Intermediate Systems Acquisition, Part B
  • LOG 101, Acquisition Logistics Fundamentals
  • LOG 102, Systems Sustainment Management Fundamentals
  • LOG 103, Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM)

    Recommended: Students should have 2 or more years life cycle logistics experience and be currently assigned or expected to be assigned to a supportability manager position
