Integrated Logistics Support and Supportability Analysis through the Acquisition Life Cycle |
|
The new Life Cycle Logistics Chart is an easy-to-read reference wall chart that focuses on the many issues that must be addressed and activities that must be performed to plan, manage, and implement life cycle logistics and its related elements for acquisition end items. During the 1980s and early 1990s, the Army maintained a wall chart that portrayed the life cycle logistics process with details on each of the ten elements of logistics support. That old chart, developed by the USAMC Materiel Readiness Support Activity, was very popular and was in high demand by personnel from all the military services. |
Its primary strength was as a training aid. That old chart has been significantly updated to meet current changes in DoD Acquisition Policy and now includes life cycle phases, terminology, and best practices. Although, in the past, it has been only a hard-copy publication; the utility of the old chart has been extended by creating it as an interactive web site with links to additional information. You now have the option of downloading a printer-friendly version of the new chart. In addition, you can order a high-resolution poster that replaces the old wall chart. |
