This guide is designed to assist the Program Manager (PM) and supporting acquisition community in developing and executing high-performance integrated product teams (IPTs). The guide is organized into 5 chapters that cover both DoD policy for IPT structures and fundamental operating principles for any IPT. 

Official DoD guide to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), produced by the offices of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics) (USD(AT&L)) and the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence) (ASD(C3I)). Provides guidelines and insight for individuals selected as IPT leaders to manage successful IPTs. Revision 1, dtd October 1999, replaces the previous ''Rules of the Road'' originally  issued in 1995.

Although dated, this document is still a potentially powerful and useful reference. It is being retained as an archived Performance Based Life Cycle Product Support (PBL) reference. It may still have applicability or relevance, and some portions may or may not still be current. Recommend users of this site confirm this with more current DoD PBL references including, but not limited to:
