- The DLA Life Cycle Logistics Independent Logistics Assessment (ILA) Guidebook guides DLA Weapon System Support Managers (WSSMs), Weapons System Program Managers (WSPMs) and other DLA lead Program Manager (PM) Program Executive Office (PEO)/customer representative engagement with the Services' Life Cycle Logistics management process. It outlines the DLA's varied support and performance capabilities including cataloging, distribution, supply chain management, contracting, technical, and quality support, and disposal and reutilization These capabilities are outlined to provide a framework for DLA engagement in tandem with PM/PEO activities. DLA is the primary source of weapon system sustainment for consumables, new Depot Level Reparables, (DLRs) and associated services.
- Benefit/Value
- The Guidebook and the DLA ILA Checklist (contained in Appendix E) will help ensure DLA is providing supportable, sustainable, and cost effective weapon system support, and that DLA is postured to proactively and effectively support both new and legacy weapon systems, and the warfighter. These are critical tools that are being provided to ensure world-class support to DLA's customers.
