Source Selection

Topic
Long Description

Source Selection is a process that deals with the selection of a contractor through the competitive negotiation period.  The process begins with the establishment of an evaluation plan for a proposed acquisition and ends when the Source Selecting Authority (SSA) selects a contractor who will receive a contract award.  This process may be either formal or informal.  In accordance with PGI 215.300,  the Director, Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy issued a memorandum dated March 4, 2011 implementing Department of Defense Source Selection Procedures to be used within DoD when conducting negotiated, competitive acquisitions utilizing FAR part 15 procedures.  A web-enabled version of this guide is located at https://acc.dau.mil/dodssp.
