AFRL memorial service to honor fallen military members

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio -- The Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate is sponsoring a Roll Call Memorial Service at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force outdoor Memorial Park on May 22 beginning at 9 a.m.

This event will honor all local Miami Valley region U.S. service members who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces in conflicts from World War II to present day.

According to Adrienne Ephrem, bio-sensing engineer within the Sensors Directorate, the service is a small token of appreciation for remarkable American heroes.

"These men and women made the ultimate sacrifice for their country," Ephrem said. "Additionally, the service allows us to remember the families who have persevered following the loss of loved ones."

Col. Todd Venema, the Sensors Directorate deputy director, will provide opening remarks. The guest speaker will be retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Jack Hudson, director of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

The event is open to the public.
