One AFM

We are a single integrated organization whereby success is predicated on our ability to communicate, share and support each other to meet our customers' needs. We are no longer "Headquarters" working for the DAAFM and "Field" working for the Area Directors. Policy and operational support to the customers are virtually aligned under one AFM leadership where there is no longer "Headquarters" and "Field" within AFM.

Our Organization

AFM is comprised of ARS AFM employees nationwide that are aligned into various offices/business service centers/divisions to effectively and efficiently carry out the business services to ARS, ERS, NASS and NIFA. AFM is comprised of:

Eastern Business Service Center (EBSC)
Facilities Division (FD)

Financial Management and Agreements Division (FMAD)
Human Resources Division (HRD)
National Capital Region Business Service Center (NCRBSC)
Western Business Service Center (WBSC)

Mission Statement

Administrative & Financial Management (AFM) provides a wide array of business services to support the research, education and economics missions of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Economic Research Service (ERS), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). AFM's business services include financial management, travel, human resources, homeland security, acquisition, property, facilities engineering, safety & health, information technology, and extramural agreements.
