Whole Foods to Increase Solar Use

April 2016 - Whole Foods Market and SolarCity will retrofit up to 100 Whole Foods stores with rooftop solar across the United States. SolarCity will custom design each solar power system to maximize the of grid power. Whole Foods will save money by purchasing power from SolarCity at a discount rate, locking in lower utility rates for years into the future. Under a separate agreement, NRG Energy plans to install rooftop solar systems at as many as 84 Whole Foods stores and distribution centers across nine states. Whole Foods has already installed solar at 25 stores.
