- This standard specifies a method of measuring the filtering capabilities of passive, low-pass, electromagnetic interference (EMI)/radio-frequency interference (RFI) filters as a function of frequency and considering the influence of temperature and direct current bias. This measurement is known as insertion loss (IL)
