DHS Releases U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Declined Detainer Outcome Report

DHS today issued the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Declined Detainer Outcome Report required by President Trump’s Executive Order, Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States. This report will be issued weekly to highlight jurisdictions that choose not to cooperate with ICE detainers or requests for notification, therefore potentially endangering Americans.

U.S. Coast Guard Win 11 Medals in Culinary Competition

Earlier this month a team of U.S. Coast Guard chefs won seven Silver and four Bronze medals at the 42nd Annual Military Culinary Arts Competitive Training Event in Fort Lee, Virginia. The Coast Guard Culinary Specialists serve in approximately 370 units worldwide supporting the Coast Guard mission by preparing nutritious meals for crew members and serving in various collateral duties on board the unit.

Readout of Secretary Kelly's Meeting with President of Costa Rica Luis Guillermo Solis

On Thursday, March 16, Secretary Kelly met with President of Costa Rica Luis Guillermo Solis to discuss bilateral and regional security and economic issues of mutual interest.  Key DHS officials, to include Acting CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan, Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan, and USCG Commandant Paul Zukunft were also present.  The delegation from Costa Rica also included the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

Administration's Fiscal Years 2017 Budget Amendment and 2018 Budget Requests Advance DHS Operations

The president’s Budget Amendment for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 and Budget Blueprint for FY 2018 were delivered to Congress today.  The FY 2017 Budget Amendment includes $3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement Executive Orders that strengthen border security, enhance enforcement of immigration laws, and ensure public safety in communities across the United States.

The U.S. Coast Guard protects our coastlines, ports, waterways and our people furthering the DHS mission. Today, the Coast Guard was deployed to survey the Apalachicola, Florida area with night compatible equipment for damage caused by Hurricane Hermine. The crew searched the area for people in distress, pollution, flooding, or other damages.
