Welcome to the Ninth District Western Region Website

From the Commodore

Welcome to the 9WR website. The Coast Guard Auxiliary 9th Western Region proudly supports Sector Lake Michigan with Nine Divisions spread throughout the applicable portions of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

Our volunteer members work as part of the Coast Guard family to promote and improve recreational boating safety by offering a variety of Boating Education classes and Vessel Safety Checks; support Coast Guard maritime homeland security efforts by participating in marine safety events and support the Coast Guard's operations, administrative and logistical requirements by means of many specifically trained members with special skills.

Your safety is important to us. We encourage you to review this website for additional information about boating, water safety or educational opportunities. As always, we heartily welcome new members who choose to join the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and participate with us in our mission of Coast Guard support.
