The People Running the Show

Stephen Jackson

StephenI began my career with the US Census Bureau in the Manufacturing and Construction Division (MCD) as an intern in 2010. During my time in MCD, I was able to learn about respondent contact and surveying in multiple industries within the United States. Currently, I work in the Data Collection Branch (DCB) on the AESDirect team and chances are if you have called our call center, we have already met. As an analyst for DCB, I ensure that the Trade community receives timely responses to questions about AES and develop broadcast messages for changes, issues or updates to the AES and the new Refactored AESDirect.

I was raised just outside of Washington, DC.  In 2010, I graduated from Salisbury University with a B.S. in Business Management. I enjoy being outside for any reason and particularly for playing sports. Being a Maryland boy, I also enjoy spending time on the water doing recreational crabbing and some water sports.

    Hello AES TEAM,
do you have any idea when the two character carrier IATA code issue will be resolved in AESDirect?

  2. Christine Donohue says:

    Hi Team:

Can someone please give me a quick definition of “special classification provisions.” Specifically, what types of products fall within this category? Working on a report for NY exports, and I see that “special classification provisions” is a leading category, but have no idea what that entails.

    Thanks!

    • Global Reach Daniel says:

      Hello Christine,

In response to your classification question regarding special classification provisions:

Information on special classification provisions is found in Chapter 98 which states they are exports of articles previous imported for repair or alterations; instruments of international traffic; articles donated for relief or charity, nesoi (not elsewhere specified or included); military wearing apparel; military equipment not identified by kind.

The above definition is from the Schedule B book. You can also check our website for more information: http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/schedules/b/2012/c98.pdf

  4. usero misa says:

    Hello AES,
My company currently filed ITN number through AESDirect Production page.
Do we still need to file for an account with ACE?

    • Global Reach Stephen says:

@usero misa, If you are filing for a ITN currently you are still able to use the AESDirect Production page as it is currently. In the coming future, in order to file for the ITN, you will need to register for an ACE account in order to gain access in the new AESDirect that will be housed in ACE.
