Welcome to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary 5th District Northern Web Site

The over 2400 volunteers that make up the Fifth Northern Region Coast Guard Auxiliary, serving Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, donate their time, boats, aircraft, and radios to support the mission of the US Coast Guard. This group of dedicated men and women perform missions focusing on recreational boating safety and direct support of the Coast Guard. To execute our mission, the Auxiliary provides free Vessel Safety Examinations and safe boating courses to the public as well as search & rescue and marine environmental protection and maritime security patrols. These air, ground, and water surface missions have non-law enforcement objectives that encourage boater and waterway safety.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary, created by an Act of Congress in 1939, is the uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard in nearly all its missions. It is made up of 30,000 men and women nationwide who live and work in the communities they serve and understand the unique needs of the public, donating their time and expertise to support the Coast Guard and improve boating safety. Membership is open to all US citizens 17 years of age or older. We provide excellent member training for those interesting in particular disciplines and encourage members to advance their participation in the organization.

We invite you to explore our site and learn more about
who we are and what we do to be 'Semper Paratus'.
