The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's Reservation is located thirty five miles northeast of Reno, Nevada in a remote desert area located in the counties of Washoe, Lyon, and Storey. The area of the reservation contains 475,000 acres or 742.2 square miles. Out of this acreage approximately 112,000 acres cover the surface of a terminal desert lake, Pyramid Lake. Pyramid Lake is one of the most valuable assets of the Tribe and is entirely enclosed within the boundaries of the Reservation. Pyramid Lake is approximately 15 miles long and 11 miles wide. PLPT Fishing, Camping & Boating Regulations - Final 08/19/15

  • Effective 10/01/2015 the Pyramid Lake Tribe is offering a 10% discount on all permits if you are a Senior (65 and older), military, or a member of recognized tribe.
  • All people meeting the senior category that have purchased a permit in the past will be automatically switched over on 10/01/2015 and will be immediately eligible for the discounted price. Any individual who has never had a Pyramid Lake Tribal permit in the past will be able to register as a senior/military/or tribal member and therefore receive the discounted price.
  • For Military and Tribal members from other tribes that have purchased a license in the past you will need to contact the Pyramid Lake Tribe to have your profile updated to receive future discounts on permit purchases. There will be no credits issued for failure to contact our office prior to having your profile updated.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT- The Tribal Council is moving forward with implementing the Tribe's Economic Development Plan and accessing the Pyramid Lake Paiute Economic Development Fund Created by PL-101-618. Please see the implementation process diagram below.
