The Student Intern Program is managed by the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI). The purpose of the intern program is to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate, graduate, law, and PhD students considering careers in economics, finance, accounting, information technology, law, and human resources. We believe that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, talented college students can gain the practical knowledge needed in a competitive workforce. In addition, the intern program supports NCUA’s diversity objectives.
NCUA selects currently enrolled college students through our partner organizations.
These organizations serve students from groups that traditionally have low participation rates in the workforce. Interested students should contact these organizations.
OMWI works with partner organizations to select students by reviewing resumes, reading essays and conducting telephone interviews. Students are then paired according to their field of study, interest, knowledge, work experience, and skills and background requested by the NCUA host office.
NCUA also participates in the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) for college students with disabilities managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy and the U.S. Department of Defense's Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity. Students are hired through this program based on funds and full-time equivalent (FTE) positions available within requesting NCUA offices. Students interested in the WRP program should visit the
program website.
Please note that applying as an intern candidate with one of our partner organizations does not guarantee placement as an intern with NCUA.
