Import prices from China decrease 1.7 percent over the year ending January 2017

Prices for imports from China fell 0.1 percent in January, after recording no change in December and fell 1.7 percent over the past 12 months. The price index for imports from China has not recorded a monthly increase since the index rose 0.1 percent in December 2014. Full Text »

This Beyond the Numbers article examines the relationship between the Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index (PPI) for dealer transactions-equity securities and two major stock market volatility indicators. An analysis of these three measures shows a positive correlation.
