The presentation provided an invaluable overview of interagency acquisitions of services, discussing the use of the General Services Administration (GSA) and other non-DoD agencies which provide customized acquisition and contracting support to DoD customers (assisted acquisitions). The presentation also covered cases where a DoD contracting officer places an order against an assisting agency's contract vehicle (direct acquisition). The session addressed DoD policy requirements, available learning and training assets, as well as solicited attendee participation. This training opportunity targeted requirements generators, program managers, and fiscal personnel as well as other acquisition team members. * Mr. Mike Canales of Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy (DPAP) in the Office of the Secretary of Defense kicked off the presentation and addressed DoD policy implementation.
* Mr. Mike Donaldson of GSA covered GSA processes/expectations, and
* Ms. Pam Gouldberry and Mr. Jeff Birch of DAU discussed available learning assets for acquisition professionals – government and industry.
