Just Ducky

At least 50,000 ducks gathered recently on the Oregon side of Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge to feed in a single 125-acre farm field, which sustained the high number of ducks every night for two weeks. A cooperative farming program between the Service and local farmers around Mid-Columbia River Complex in Oregon and Washington provides essential food sources to waterfowl during the critical winter season.

Kids! Get in Touch with Nature Through the Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest

Protecting nature is critical to keeping our planet thriving for future generations. What better way to do that than by engaging school children, in grades K through 12, to put their imaginative skills to work for wildlife in the 2017 Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest. It is organized by the Service, Endangered Species Coalition, Association of Zoos and Aquariums and International Child Art Foundation. The deadline is March 1, 2017.
