Long Description

Users of the Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) Contracting Community of Practice site can find all the information they need on one portal site. The new Contracting Portal is now operational at http://acc.dau.mil/con.

 The new Contracting Portal provides users with features such as:

  • Links to additional Web sites /topic areas;
  • Ability to organize the content according to the user's areas of interest; and
  • Listing of topic areas on the left side of the screen, allowing users to easily find existing ACC Contracting Process and Mission Areas.

Eventually, the portal will allow users to create a personalized "My Contracting Portal" page that users can customize to their own needs.

The Contracting Portal supports knowledge sharing in a number of contracting process and mission areas, and it fosters collaboration within the federal acquisition workforce community. The portal also serves as a repository for learning and job support assets to promote smart business decisions and increase job performance to achieve mission goals.

The Defense Acquisition University's ACC Knowledge Management Team is overseeing the process of developing the Contracting Portal. The team's strategic goal is to integrate DAU enterprise systems and repositories into portals that apply current technologies. This will allow the user to more easily obtain information, thus enabling better organizational performance.

The Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) allows Communities of Practice and Special Interest Areas within the acquisition workforce to share and discuss acquisition-specific topics across the Department of Defense. ACC is managed and operated by the Defense Acquisition University with the express purpose of supporting the DoD acquisition, technology, and logistics workforce. Participation is free and voluntary, and the content is predominantly open to the public.
