- This Hot Topic Forum addressed several initiatives for streamlining the current acquisition process and making the process more responsive to warfighter requirements. These initiatives - presented by Mr. James Durham, Deputy Director, Joint Force Application, OUSD(AT&L) - include Concept Decision Methodology, Time-defined Acquisition, Requirements Stability, Funding Stability, and Risk-based Source Selection.

- This presentation examined advanced concepts for streamlining the DoD Acquisition Process. These concepts are not established policy, but identified here in order to provide an opportunity for discussion, interest, and recommendations on their validity and applicability. A part of the presentation addressed a revised process for Concept Decision and identified a Concept Decision Working Group. A DAU point of contact on the Working Group is Mr. Ron Pontius, DSMC/SPM (Tel. 703-805-5050); any questions related to potential changes in the Concept Decision process should be addressed to him.
