Long Description: If you have risks that involves manufacturing, then you would want to utilize this website for sources of best practices. The BMPCOE provides a national resource to identify and validate best practices, document them, and then encourage industry, government, and academia to share information about them. The BMP uses surveys to evaluate an organization’s best practices and to provide benchmarking information at no cost to the organization.

The overall survey process consists of the Request, the Pre-Survey Visit, the Survey, and the Report Publication. The structure of the survey process, as well as the published report, is based on six functional areas (design, test, production, facilities, logistics, management) that are highlighted in the Department of Defense's 4245.7-M, Transition from Development to Production manual.

An Electronic Library is available online and is comprised of Guideline Documents covering a variety of engineering topics (MIL-STD, DOD-STD, NAVSO, NAVMAT).

The BMP also is the source for The Program Manager’s WorkStation (PMWS) is an electronic suite of tools designed to provide timely acquisition and engineering information to the user.
