Acquisition Awards Proven Practices and Lessons Learned

Welcome to the DAU consolidated site for Acquisition Awards, Proven Practices, and Lessons Learned Community of Practice. This CoP was designed as a repository of web-links, both DAU and non-DAU, to help improve the ability of acquisition personnel to locate information on awards, proven practices, and lessons learned. Using the information contained in this site, we can improve DoD Acquisition Workforce ability to ensure the warfighter has the right goods and services they need, when and where they need them, by:

• Streamlining our acquisition processes and procedures
• Integrating process and product improvements into our goods and services
• Incorporating new or innovative techniques or technologies, and
• Achieving cost savings and efficiencies

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to consolidate information on acquisition awards, proven practices, and lessons learned into a single location, and with that information, to help improve the acquisition workforce’s capability to provide warfighting capability within finite resources.

Organization of Site

This CoP is segregated first by 1). Lessons Learned, 2). Proven Practices, and 3). Acquisition Awards. There is some intentional duplication of source links in each section so Acquisition Personnel can search (i.e. Lessons Learned or Proven/Best Practices) the specific source site based on the section where they are currently researching information.

Both the Proven Practices and Lessons Learned are further segregated by 1). Functional areas, and 2). Organization.

The Acquisition Awards are segregated only by Organization (DoD, Federal Government, and Industry).

The CoP also includes a section allowing acquirers to “Submit your own Acquisition Award, Proven Practices, and Lessons Learned Information”.
