Greater Atlanta Pollinator Partnership
The Atlanta metro area's housing boom of the 1990s and early 2000s caused the loss of about 400,000 acres of pollinator-friendly native habitat. This has been bad news for butterflies, bees, moths, bats, hummingbirds, and other species which rely on this habitat. The Greater Atlanta Pollinator Partnership was initiated in 2009 to address this problem and encourage restoration, development, and registration of pollinator habitat.
