How can we improve Yahoo News?

Why can't we leave comments on Katie Courics news articles?

To Yahoo's credit we can leave comments on almost all news articles, but not Katie Courics. Is it because she is too high an mighty to get feedback on her reporting? Why even have her on this sight if we as the readers can't weigh in on what she is reporting about? She might as well be in her ivory tower, like NBC, CBS, or ABC. One of the distinct advantages that Yahoo has over many of the other sites is the interaction with it's readers. Infact, I don't agree with many of the articles, but I read them and often read the comments on them.

Stop it with the videos. Nobody likes a loud obnoxious video playing when we come to your site. Let the user start the video.

Please DO NOT show that ad where Ellen DeGeneres is supposedly crying to me again, I can't opt out of it, its totally offensive .

Please remove the Ellen DeGeneres ad with her supposedly crying after having been "dumped". Its offensive and uncalled for.

I suggest someone with some authority at Yahoo really start reading these "How Can I Improve Yahoo" suggestions. I stopped using Yahoo News as a credible source for almost a year now....and I come back and the SAME issues are rampant on Yahoo News. Auto Play Videos you cant control or stop; Paid Ads masquerading as "news"; News Videos with Zero written content; OLD News parading as current news and the plethora of "suggestions" with dates 2012, 2013 and early 2014. Obviously, despite some token patronizing Admin response, there is no real effort being made to FIX the issues or listen to your Yahoo users. We really get that the annoying ADS pay for the privilege of free Yahoo news....but the reality is - Yahoo News is losing credibility. Bring back NEWS stories.. well written news stories. not opinions or pundits. Just report the news! Mange all the intrusive ads and give your loyal readers a reason to come back to Yahoo News.

A person used to be able to set their own criteria for news and features they want to see. Now it appears Yahoo wants to tell us what to read intertwined with ads made to look like news stories. Pathetic.

Just because I read news stories regarding Obama does not mean I want to be subjected to right wing lies from The Daily Caller on every Yahoo webpage. Please allow Yahoo users to screen out teasers from websites that they despise.

Keeping my local news current would be a fantastic start. It is 6/11/2014 and my local news is all from 6/9/2014

Simple enough idea, its called keeping current local news headlines current. I have been dealing with 3 day old articles for awhile now and am ready to give up on yahoo for update articles.

Thank you for (finally) bringing notifications back.

Unfortunately there appears to be a problem with them. Frequently, when I click on a notification, I am directed to a different article than the one the notification refers to. I see no pattern as to when this happens, but I've seen it 3 or 4 times now.

Please investigate.
