The Navy Standards Working Group (NSWG) in an effort to
align the Information Technology (IT) standards has developed a set of
Standards Profiles for use within the Real-Time Tactical environment but are
not tied to any one Navy Domain (i.e. Air, C4I, Space, Subs or Surface).
These Navy Standards Profiles can serve as a source for
standards requirements for tactical computing systems in support of the Navy's
Open Architecture initiative. Currently
there are eight Technology Profiles identifying DoD approved standards and
guidance for their use.
Each standard identified in the Technology
Profiles is listed within the DoD IT Standards Registry (DISR).
