California Featured Partners
With the support of its many partners, the BLM California's Paleontological Program manages a diverse assortment of fossil and fossil bearing formations. We appreciate the support of all of our partners!
- The Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology: Located on the campus of The Webb Schools in Claremont, CA, is the only nationally accredited museum in the USA on a high school campus.
- California State University Desert Studies Center: Located within the Mojave National Preserve and provides the opportunity for individuals and groups to conduct research, receive instruction, and experience the desert environment. Established in 1976 under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Land Management, the Center is operated for the CSU by the California Desert Studies Consortium, an organization of seven southern California CSU campuses: Dominguez Hills, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Pomona and San Bernardino.
- University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology: Located on the campus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is a research facility enabling direct hands-on study of plants and animals preserved as fossils, and study of the environmental, ecological, and paleogeographical conditions in which they lived.
- University of Californria Museum of Paleontology: The University of California Museum of Paleontology has a mission to investigate and promote the understanding of the history of life and the diversity of the Earth's biota through research and education.
- Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County: Developed by Madera County, in partnership with the San Joaquin Valley Paleontology Foundation. The Discovery Center is located at the Fairmead landfill in Madera County, the site of one of the largest middle-Pleistocene fossil excavations in North America.
