We've heard of dumping old junkers into lakes, but who'd do that to a Bugatti?
We've got stories from the history of the Bugatti family and business (including how this one ended up at the bottom of Lago Maggiore) and more great pictures, right here: http://www.cartalk.com/blogs/jim-motavalli/art-bugatti-family-saga-stories-attached

Mel's 1993 Toyota pickup keeps overheating. Her mechanic can't figure it out and has offered to buy it from her. Should she take the offer, or try to figure out what's wrong? Post your advice for Mel here.
At Tom's memorial service last Thursday, we heard from his eldest daughter, Lydia Magliozzi Icke, who wrote a poem commemorating her life with her dad. We loved her tribute and wanted to share it with you.
"There are plenty of people in the world who can make us laugh, but laughter is different than joy. Think about all of the comedians who might make you laugh, but who don’t do anything to make you happy. My dad and uncle actually made strangers happier, made their lives better and brighter."
From the staff here at Car Talk plaza, we just wanted to thank you all. This week was hard, but your thoughts, comments and kind words have made it bearable for us here. We've been humbled by hearing about the impact Tom has had on your lives, and grateful to be a part of that. Thank you again for being part of the Car Talk family.

To all of you who have written in via email, facebook or shared a comment in our guest book, thank you.

Tom’s son, Alex, speaking at Tom’s funeral on Thursday, made a point of saying how incredibly cathartic it was for him to stay up hal...f the night after his father had died, reading loving tributes about his Dad from people he didn’t even know.

If you haven't yet, we're still collecting these memories to share with the Magliozzi family.

Ever wonder where Tommy got his laugh?

On today's show, Ray shared a memory of their mother joining them in the studio. Listening to mother and sons laugh together was one of our favorite moments from Ray's tribute today.

It runs in the family - here are Tom and Ray with both their parents.

And just how did Tom convince his beloved nephew to surrender Ray's credit card?

This morning on Car Talk, Ray will be remembering his brother Tom.

We're going to grab a cappuccino (just like Tommy taught us), and get ready to listen and laugh along with them. (And maybe cry.) We hope you'll join us.

Tomorrow, on stations all around the country, Ray will be taking an hour to remember his brother Tom, who passed away Monday from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The show will feature some of Tom’s funniest moments from nearly thir...ty years of Car Talk. We’ve pulled together moments that are "classic Tom”— his wacko theories, his insights on callers’ lives, and his unique take on life. And, of course, no shortage of his great laughter.

We hope you can join us.

For the mechanics and DIY-ers out there - we laughed out loud when we read Matthew's plan to remember Tommy before this weekend's show. (And we could all use a laugh this week!)

We think it's a fitting send-off. Details here if you want to join him:
