Welcome to the National Training Program!

Two technical training programs reside within the Office of Surface Mining: The TIPS Training Program and the National Technical Training Program (NTTP). Together we collaborate on common training issues and incentives; share representatives on each other's respective Steering Committees; coordinate course pre-requisites to best serve one another's classes; and, address such issues as instructor succession planning. Together we have created resources to help you receive the best training possible for professionals in the SMCRA environment. Check out the TIPS, NTTP, and Resources tabs for more information.

Students enroll for TIPS and NTTP courses through DOI Learn, our learning management system. If you are an OSM employee or customer of TIPS and NTTP, refer to the DOI Learn tab for information on enrollment procedures. If you have never attended a training course and are interested in doing so, please contact Jessica Villanueva (jvillanueva@osmre.gov) for further guidance.
