The SunShot Initiative works to make solar electricity cost-competitive with conventionally-generated electricity with the goal of reaching a levelized cost of electricity for utility-scale solar of $0.03 per kilowatt hour by 2030. SunShot also addresses grid integration challenges and key market barriers in order to enable greater solar adoption.

SunShot plays a crucial role in the growth of U.S. solar energy, partnering with hundreds of private companies, universities, state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and national laboratories to fund cooperative research, development, demonstration, and deployment projects that drive down the cost of solar electricity. Below are success stories from just a few of the SunShot partners. Select a project to learn more.
