    The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Colorado Christian University is designed for nurses with a bachelor’s degree in nursing who are ready to take on greater leadership roles in health care and education. Recent healthcare reforms and the ongoing shortage of nurse educators have increased the demand for nurses with master’s degrees who can help fill the gap in meeting the needs of a growing patient population.

    To help address the growing demand for expert nurses with a master’s degree, CCU’s MSN program offers you two opportunities for specialization. Both emphasize the core foundations of advanced nursing practice and Christian principles.

    Nursing Education Emphasis

    The Master of Science in Nursing Education emphasis prepares you to work as a nurse educator in diverse settings such as colleges/universities, hospitals, long-term care, home health/public health, or philanthropic organizations. Courses integrate teaching/learning principles, curriculum design, student assessment, and program evaluation to prepare you to be an innovative change agent while teaching within the academic or health care settings. The emphasis has 245 hours of clinical practice experience.

    Clinical Care Management in Adult/Geriatric Emphasis

    The MSN emphasis in Clinical Care Management in Adult/Geriatrics prepares nurses to work in diverse settings as a clinician, consultant and coordinator of health care for adult and geriatric populations emphasizing clinical prevention and improved health outcomes for patients with acute and chronic diseases. The program emphasizes the core foundations of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Adult and Geriatrics, which is an advanced practice nurse specialty role. The emphasis has 500 hours of clinical practice experience, allowing students to meet requirements for certification.
