On Wednesday just after midnight, Trooper Patrick Marks of the Danvers Barracks attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 1 in Lynnfield, when he observed the operator texting on his cell phone and unable to maintain his travel lane. The vehicle failed to stop and exited Route 1 in Lynn, where Trooper Marks terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
