Volunteer at Arctic RefugeThe Refuge is vast but our volunteer program is modest. With a small staff, and remote lands hundreds of miles away from our administrative offices, we do not have numerous volunteer opportunities. That said, depending on your interests, aptitudes, and availability, there are occasions where a fruitful match between volunteer and Refuge needs can be found. If you are interested in investigating volunteer options, send an email to arctic_refuge@fws.gov describing whether you can provide your own transportation to Fairbanks, what dates you might be available, where your areas of specialty and interest lie, and why you've identified Arctic Refuge as a place that might benefit from your volunteer service. Information about volunteering at other locations within the US Fish and Wildlife Service is available at http://www.volunteer.gov/, and in Alaska at http://www.fws.gov/alaska/volunteer/needs.htm.Work at Arctic RefugeJobs may open periodically at the Refuge. Keep an eye on USAJobs.gov. All permanent and seasonal federal jobs are posted there. In the entrance screen, indicate that you want to see jobs for Alaska. Visit the site every two weeks or so to see what's new.
